Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande to Star in 'Wicked' Movie

Erivo to Play Elphaba, Grande to Play Glinda

The highly anticipated 'Wicked' movie has finally found its stars. Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande will play Elphaba and Glinda, respectively, in the upcoming adaptation of the Broadway musical.

Erivo, an Emmy, Grammy, and Tony Award winner, is known for her roles in 'The Color Purple' and 'Harriet.' Grande is a pop superstar with multiple hit songs to her name.

The 'Wicked' movie will tell the untold story of the witches of Oz. Elphaba, an ostracized but defiant girl born with green skin, meets Glinda, a popular and beautiful girl who is destined to become the Good Witch of the North. The two form an unlikely friendship that is tested by the forces of good and evil.

The movie is directed by Jon M. Chu ('Crazy Rich Asians') and is set to release in November 2024.
